Many of those seeking to purchase the new Samsung Galaxy S4 or Samsung Galaxy Note 3, or indeed the LG G2, don’t take much time out to consider third party – foreign manufactured Android devices. Personally, I wouldn’t have either. The fear of not knowing what you’ll get, what condition it would be in, and dealing with shady looking website is enough to put you off completely. But I took the plunge.
After months of debating (last year at that), and carefully analysing the latest technology trends, the expectations of new processors, increased RAM and more storage, I waited and waited while observing new Chinese branded phones to be released every day. If you asked me 2 years ago to even consider getting an unbranded phone, or a Chinese phone more precisely, I would have thrown the idea out the window purely because of the horror stories I had heard about quality of cheaper goods.
In December last year, I had put away some savings. I got myself a new laptop (HP I didn’t go Chinese branded for that one – although its still made in China – Lol) and I purchased an Android 4.1 Device online from a Chinese retailer. As I clicked the final order confirmation, I was dreading the idea that the phone would never come. After a few days, I was provided with a tracking number which supplied information I needed to confirm that my device was on the way. I had to wait until it showed up in the shipping company’s database.
